This summary is for convenience. The full terms below apply.

1Who we are and what these terms cover

1.1Doubtster is operated by Doubtster, of 27, Sahyog Nagar, near Shiva Talkies, Ward No 19, 321001, Rajasthan ("Doubtster", "we", "us" or "our"). You can contact us at contact@doubtster.com.

1.2These terms apply to your use of the Doubtster website, apps and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, starting a trial, buying a plan or credits, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1.3Our Privacy Policy at [PRIVACY POLICY LINK] explains how we collect and use personal data. Please read it alongside these terms.

2Who can use Doubtster

2.1You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who must agree to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for any purchases made on the account.

2.2If you buy a plan for someone else, such as your child, you are the account holder and you are responsible for the account and its charges.

2.3You must give us accurate information, keep your login details secure, and tell us promptly at contact@doubtster.com if you think someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it was caused by us.

2.4One account per person. Do not share your account or login with others.

2.5You must not use the Service if the law bars you from doing so, or if we have previously ended your account for breaking these terms.

3The Service

3.1Free chat. Doubtster lets you ask study questions and get answers in text. Chat is free and does not use credits. We may apply reasonable usage limits to keep the Service fair and stable.

3.2Video explainers. Doubtster can turn an answer into a step by step explainer video. Each video uses one credit (see section 5).

3.3Subjects. The Service currently focuses on maths, physics, chemistry, economics and coding. We may add or remove subjects.

3.4AI-powered. Answers and videos are generated automatically by artificial intelligence, including models provided by third parties (see section 12).

3.5Changes. We may improve, change, add or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will give you reasonable notice and you may cancel under section 7.

4AI-generated content: please read this

Important

Doubtster uses AI, and AI can make mistakes. Do not rely on an answer or video for anything important without checking it.

4.1No guarantee of accuracy. Answers and videos may be wrong, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable for your syllabus. We do not promise that they are accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose.

4.2Not professional advice. Doubtster is a study aid. It is not professional, legal, medical, financial or academic advice, and it does not replace your teacher, textbook or exam board materials.

4.3No guaranteed results. We do not promise any particular grade, exam result or learning outcome.

4.4Check and report. Please check important answers with your teacher or a trusted source. If you spot a mistake, use the "Report a mistake" button. We may review reports to improve the Service, but we may not reply to each one.

4.5Similar outputs. Because answers are generated automatically, different users may receive similar or identical outputs. We do not guarantee that an output is unique.

4.6Academic integrity. You are responsible for following the rules of your school, college, university or exam board about the use of AI tools. Do not present generated content as your own work where those rules do not allow it. We are not responsible for any academic consequences of how you use the Service.

5Plans, trials and credits

5.1Credits. One credit lets you generate one explainer video. Chat does not use credits. Credits have no cash value, are not property, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and expire as described below, except where the law says otherwise.

5.2Paid trial. You can start a plan with a paid trial. The trial costs $1.99, lasts 7 days and includes 3 credits, which expire when the trial ends. You choose the Monthly or Annual plan when you start the trial.

5.3One trial per person. Each person may have one trial. If we reasonably believe someone is using more than one account, phone number, device or payment method to get more than one trial, we may refuse or end the extra trials.

5.4Your plan starts automatically. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your chosen plan starts automatically when the 7-day trial ends, and we will charge the plan price to the payment method you used (or the one you have since updated). We then charge you at the start of each billing period until you cancel. The trial fee is charged once and is separate from the plan price.

5.5Plans. The current plans are:

TrialMonthlyAnnual
Price$1.99 once$7.99 per month$59 per year
BillingOne time, for 7 daysEvery monthEvery year
Credits3, expire when the trial ends30 per month30 per month, released monthly

5.6Plan credits. Monthly plan credits are added at the start of each billing month and expire at the end of it. Annual plan credits are released 30 at a time at the start of each month of your annual term, not all at once. Unused plan credits do not roll over to the next month.

5.7Top-ups. While you have an active paid plan, you can buy extra credits: 10 credits for $4.99 or 25 credits for $9.99. Top-up credits expire 90 days after purchase. Top-ups are not available during a trial.

5.8Order of use. Credits are used in order of earliest expiry first.

5.9Running out. If you run out of credits, you can buy a top-up (if you have an active paid plan) or wait for your next monthly credits. Chat stays free.

5.10Fair use. To keep the Service stable for everyone, we may set reasonable limits, for example on how many videos can be generated per day. We will describe any such limits in the app or on our Pricing page.

5.11Changes to prices and plans. We may change prices or what a plan includes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app before a change applies to you, and a change will not apply to a billing period you have already paid for. If you do not accept the change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

6Payments and taxes

6.1Payment provider. Our payments are handled by [PAYMENT PROVIDER], which acts as our authorised reseller and merchant of record. It processes your payment, issues receipts and handles taxes. Its terms apply to the purchase in addition to ours, and we do not store your full card details.

6.2Prices and currency. Prices are in US dollars. At checkout you may see the price in your local currency, and the amount shown at checkout is the amount you pay.

6.3Taxes. Depending on where you live, prices may include or exclude VAT, GST, sales tax or similar taxes. Applicable taxes are shown at checkout before you pay.

6.4Recurring payments. By starting a trial or buying a plan, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge your payment method for the trial fee, the plan price and any renewals, until you cancel.

6.5Failed payments. If a payment fails, we or our payment provider may try again and may ask you to update your payment details. We may pause video generation until payment is received. Chat stays available.

6.6Receipts and reminders. We will email you a receipt for each payment and, where the law requires, a reminder before your trial ends or your plan renews.

7Cancellation and refunds

Important

Cancel before your trial ends or before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. A charge you forgot to cancel is not refundable.

7.1How to cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings or by emailing contact@doubtster.com. We will confirm your cancellation by email.

7.2If you cancel during the trial. You will not be charged the plan price. You keep your trial credits until the trial ends. The trial fee is not refundable, except as set out in section 7.6 or where the law requires.

7.3If you cancel after your plan has started. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. Plan credits can be used until they expire.

7.4Refunds. Payments are not refundable, except in the limited cases set out in section 7.6, in our Cancellation and Refund Policy, or where the law requires. We do not give refunds for partly used billing periods, unused credits or a change of mind.

7.5Forgotten cancellations. If you are charged because you did not cancel before your trial ended or before a renewal date, for example because you forgot to turn off auto-renew, the charge is not refundable. We recommend setting your own reminder.

7.6Our mistakes. If we charge you in error, take a payment after you cancelled correctly, or charge you and your payment verification fails or your plan or credits are not activated because of a bug on our side, we will fix the problem or refund the affected amount, as set out in our Cancellation and Refund Policy. If a video fails to generate because of a fault on our side, we will restore the credit.

7.7Your legal rights. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law, including consumer rights that cannot be excluded.

7.8Right to cancel in the EU and UK. If you live in the EU or the UK, you may have a legal right to cancel a digital service within 14 days. By starting a trial or generating a video, you ask us to begin providing the Service immediately, and you acknowledge that you may lose that right once the Service has been fully provided, and that if you cancel within the 14 days you may have to pay for the Service you have already received.

7.9Australia and New Zealand. Our Service comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law and the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act. You are entitled to the remedies those laws give you if we fail to meet them.

8Your content

8.1You own it. You keep ownership of the questions, text, images and other material you submit to the Service ("Your Content").

8.2Our licence to use it. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, copy and display Your Content, and to send it to our service providers, only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service. This includes using it to generate your answers and videos and to review mistake reports.

8.3Training. We do not use Your Content to train our own AI models without your permission.

8.4What you promise. You confirm that you have the right to submit Your Content and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. Please do not submit sensitive personal information about yourself or other people, or confidential material that belongs to your school or exam board.

8.5Removal. We may remove Your Content that breaks these terms. You can delete your content or your account at any time, and we will delete or anonymise your content as described in our Privacy Policy.

9Answers and videos you generate

9.1Your use. Subject to these terms, you may use the answers and videos you generate for your own personal, non-commercial study. You may share individual videos with classmates and teachers for study purposes.

9.2What you may not do. You may not sell or license the outputs, publish them in bulk, build a library or dataset from them, use them to train or improve a competing AI product, or present them as advice from a human expert.

9.3Our rights. We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, templates, visual style and branding. Videos may carry the Doubtster name or logo, and you must not remove it.

10Acceptable use

10.1Rules. When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • break any law or help anyone else to do so;
  • harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or create hateful, violent or sexually explicit content, or any content that sexualises minors;
  • submit malware, or try to disrupt, probe, scan or hack the Service or its security;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service or collect its outputs, except through tools we provide;
  • reverse engineer or copy the Service, except where the law allows;
  • get around credit, trial, rate or usage limits, including by creating multiple accounts or sharing an account;
  • resell, rent or give others access to the Service;
  • pretend to be someone else or mislead others about who you are;
  • use the Service to cheat in an exam or assessment, or to break your school's or exam board's rules;
  • use the Service to create false or misleading content meant to deceive others; or
  • interfere with other people's use of the Service.

10.2Our response. If you break these rules, we may remove content, limit features, or suspend or end your account (see section 14). Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why first.

11Our intellectual property

11.1Ownership. The Service, the Doubtster name and logo, and all software, designs and materials in it belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a right to use the Service, not to own any part of it.

11.2Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without paying you or crediting you.

11.3Copyright concerns. If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, email contact@doubtster.com with the details and we will review it.

12Third-party services

12.1Providers. We rely on third-party providers, such as hosting, AI model, payment, analytics and email providers. When you use the Service, your content and data may be processed by them as described in our Privacy Policy.

12.2Links. The Service may link to websites or services run by others. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.

13Availability and support

13.1Availability. We work to keep the Service available, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error free or secure. It may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Videos can take time to generate and sometimes fail.

13.2Support. You can reach us at contact@doubtster.com. We aim to reply within 24 to 48 hours, but we cannot promise a specific response time.

13.3Beta features. Some features may be labelled as beta or "coming soon". They may change or be removed.

14Suspension and ending your account

14.1By you. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. To avoid further charges, cancel your plan first (see section 7).

14.2By us. We may suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, to protect the Service or other users, or if you do not pay what you owe. Where it is reasonable, we will give you notice first.

14.3If we end your account without your breach. If we end your account for a reason other than your breaking these terms, or we stop providing the Service, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any unused part of a plan you have prepaid.

14.4What happens next. When your account ends, your right to use the Service stops and unused credits expire. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply, such as 8.2, 9.2, 11, 15, 16 and 18, will continue to apply.

15Disclaimers

15.1As is. Except as these terms expressly say, and to the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We give no warranties about it, including that it is accurate, always available, error free, or will meet your needs or improve your results.

15.2Your rights. Nothing in this section affects any legal rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.

16Limitation of liability

16.1What is never limited. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

16.2What we are not liable for. Subject to section 16.1 and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunity, or for any exam, grade, assessment or academic outcome, that results from your use of the Service.

16.3Cap. Subject to section 16.1 and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and [LIABILITY CAP AMOUNT].

16.4Local law. In some places the law does not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

17Changes to these terms

17.1Updates. We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. We will update the date at the top of this page.

17.2Material changes. If a change is material, we will give you at least 14 days' notice by email or in the app before it applies to you. If you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and cancel your plan before the change takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated terms.

17.3Prices. Changes to prices are covered by section 5.11.

18Governing law and disputes

18.1Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW]. The courts of [COURTS] can hear disputes about them, except as set out in section 18.2.

18.2Consumers. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country if the law allows.

18.3Talk to us first. If you have a complaint, please contact us at contact@doubtster.com. We will aim to resolve it within 30 days.

19General

19.1Whole agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the plan details shown at checkout, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.

19.2If part is invalid. If a part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

19.3No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we are not giving it up.

19.4Transfers. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours, for example if we are acquired, as long as your rights are not reduced.

19.5Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for failures or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

19.6Notices. We may give you notice by email or in the app. You can give us notice at contact@doubtster.com.

19.7Language. These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and the two differ, the English version applies, except where the law of your country says otherwise.

19.8Other people. Only you and we have rights under these terms. Nobody else can enforce them.
