Privacy Policy

In short
  • We collect what we need to run your account, answer your questions, make your videos and take payment.
  • Your questions and content are sent to AI model providers to generate answers. We do not use Your Content to train our own AI models without your permission.
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data at any time.
  • Please do not put sensitive personal information into your questions.

This summary is for convenience. The full policy below applies.

1Who we are and what this covers

1.1Doubtster is operated by Doubtster, of 27, Sahyog Nagar, near Shiva Talkies, Ward No 19, 321001, Rajasthan ("Doubtster", "we", "us" or "our"). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

1.2This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Doubtster website, apps and related services (the "Service"), why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions, and words defined there have the same meaning here.

1.3You can contact us about privacy at contact@doubtster.com.

2What we collect

2.1What you give us.

  • Account details: your email address, and your name or username if you give one, plus the sign-in method you choose ([LOGIN METHODS]).
  • Your Content: the questions, text, images and other material you submit, and the answers, notes, flashcards, quizzes and videos generated from them.
  • Messages and reports: emails you send to support, and any "Report a mistake" feedback.
  • Billing choices: the plan, trial or top-up you pick, and your billing country.

2.2What we collect automatically.

  • Usage data: which features you use, credits spent, videos generated, and settings such as theme or text size.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, pages viewed, timestamps, and error logs.
  • Cookies and similar tools: see section 3.

2.3What we get from our payment provider. [PAYMENT PROVIDER] takes your payment. It tells us whether a payment succeeded, which plan or top-up you bought, the amount, your billing country and the dates of charges. We do not receive or store your full card number.

2.4What we do not want. Please do not submit sensitive personal information about yourself or other people, such as health details, government ID numbers, or confidential material that belongs to your school or exam board. If you do, it is processed like any other content in your questions.

3Cookies and local storage

3.1Essential. We use cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in, protect the Service and remember choices that make it work.

3.2Preferences. Your browser may store settings such as theme and text size so the Service looks the way you left it.

3.3Analytics. [ANALYTICS PROVIDER AND PURPOSE, OR "We do not use analytics cookies."]

3.4Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Service may not work without essential cookies. Where the law requires your consent for non-essential cookies, we ask for it first.

5AI processing

5.1How it works. Answers and videos are generated by artificial intelligence, including models run by third parties ([AI MODEL PROVIDERS]). To generate a response, we send your question and the content you attach to those providers.

5.2Training. We do not use Your Content to train our own AI models without your permission.

5.3Provider retention. Our AI providers process your content on our behalf under their own data terms. [DESCRIBE ANY PROVIDER RETENTION, FOR EXAMPLE FOR ABUSE MONITORING, AND WHETHER PROVIDERS MAY TRAIN ON YOUR DATA.]

5.4Mistakes. AI can make mistakes. If you report a mistake, we may review the question, answer and report to improve the Service.

6Who we share data with

6.1Service providers. We share data with companies that help us run the Service, only as needed for that job:

  • hosting and storage providers ([HOSTING PROVIDER]);
  • AI model providers (section 5);
  • our payment provider, [PAYMENT PROVIDER], which is the merchant of record and handles your payment under its own privacy policy;
  • email and support tools ([EMAIL PROVIDER]); and
  • analytics tools, if we use any (section 3.3).

6.2Legal and safety. We may disclose data where the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety and security of users, us or others.

6.3Business changes. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your data may be transferred, and we will tell you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6.4We do not sell your data. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7International transfers

7.1We and our providers may process data in countries other than the one you live in, including [COUNTRIES OR REGIONS].

7.2Where we transfer personal data out of the EU, the UK or other regions with transfer rules, we use approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision, as the law requires.

8How long we keep data

8.1Account and content. We keep your account details and Your Content while your account is open, so you can see your history and library.

8.2After you delete. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your account data and Your Content within [DELETION PERIOD], except for what we must keep under section 8.3.

8.3Records we must keep. We keep billing and tax records for as long as the law requires, and limited records needed to handle disputes, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms.

8.4Logs and backups. Security logs are kept for [LOG RETENTION PERIOD]. Deleted data can remain in backups for a short period until they are overwritten.

9Your rights

9.1What you can ask for. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your data;
  • export your data in a portable format;
  • object to, or ask us to limit, some uses of your data;
  • withdraw consent you have given, at any time, without affecting what happened before; and

9.4California. If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request deletion and correction, and not to be treated unfairly for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

9.5India. If you live in India, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to access information about your data, to ask for correction and erasure, to have your grievances addressed, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or cannot do so. Our grievance contact is contact@doubtster.com.

9.6Australia, New Zealand and Canada. You can ask to access or correct your personal information, and you can complain to us or to the privacy regulator in your country.

10Children

10.1You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.

10.2We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us data without a parent's permission, email contact@doubtster.com and we will delete it.

11Security

11.1We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
